Cellulose is a type of protein.

Cellulose is a polysaccharide (a Form of carbohydrate) made of many β linked D(dextrorotary)-glucose. Found primarily in plant cell walls and many algae cell walls. Non-cellulosic cell walls are not made of cellulose, e.g., Peptidoglycan cell walls in Bacteria which are made of proteins/amino acids...

An organism in which cellulose is completely abscen in its cell wall is said to have a non cellulosic cell wall eg. Fungi .cell wall in which cellulose is present organism is called cellulosic cellulose is made up of complex sugar chitin.

An organism in which cellulose is absent in its cell wall is said to have a non-cellulosic cell wall. In such microorganisms, cellulose may be replaced with some other component as pectins (d‐galacturonic) and hemicelluloses (d‐xylans, d‐glucans, d‐mannans, etc.). This case is found explicitly in most...

This case is found explicitly in most of the marine algae, namely species of Bryopsis, Caulerpa, Udotea, Halimeda and Penicillus and of one freshwater alga, Dichotomosiphon. Non-cellulosic cell wall function is to act as pressure vessels, preventing over-expansion of the cell when water enters.

The cell wall is a rigid, semi-permeable protective layer found as the outermost layer of many types of cells. Mainly it is composed of carbohydrate-rich materials such as cellulose, hemicellulose, pectins, proteins and phenolics.

Cellulosic cell walls are made of cellulose, which is a linear polysaccharide polymer with many glucose monosaccharide units. Only plant cells and few other exceptional organisms have cellulosic cell walls. Cellulose helps the cells to maintain their shape of plants and tolerate turgor pressure.

An organism in which cellulose is absent in its cell wall has a non-cellulosic cell wall. Here instead of cellulose, the cell wall is made of pectin, chitins or hemicellulose—non-cellulosic cell wall act as pressure vessels, preventing the bursting of cells when water enters. The non-cellulosic cell wall is found in bacteria and fungi, where the cell wall of bacteria is made of peptidoglycan and that fungi are chitin. Pectin and hemicellulose as cell wall components are seen in most of the marine algae.

The cell wall which is not made up of cellulose is known as non - cellulosic cell wall.

As cellulose is absent in these cell walls, it can be made up of other molecules like sugars and proteins.

For example, the cells of kingdom fungi have non cellulosic cell wall. Their cell wall is primarily made up of chitin. Algae have cell wall made up of biochemicals like galactans, mannans and minerals like calcium carbonate.

The cellulosic cell wall consists of cellulose in its cell wall, and non-cellulosic does not consist of cellulose in its cell wall. It is the essential difference between them.
